In 2007, Kathy Bishop, “accidentally” began her speaking career as a Christian Humorist, for the Women Walking with God conference. Being a mom, step-mom, and wife of a blended family provided plenty of fodder for the stage.
But in 2012 unexpected tragedy struck, when her husband died, and there she was – a widow at the ripe old age of 48. That’s when she began to redirect her focus.
“I had absolutely no idea how “invisible” widows are. Nobody knows quite what to do with us. We are just absorbed into society, families, and churches. The silent demographic.”
A storyteller at heart, Kathy has the unique ability to blend humor with compassion as she captures the struggles, triumphs, and hope in the life of a single woman today. From the moment she steps out on stage you’re captivated.
Today, Kathy still lives on the runway with her dog, Patty Wagstaff “Wags”. A collector of teacups, quotes, and fabulous galoshes (size 7 if you see any). She stays busy trying to keep up with her 4 amazing adult children, two blessings (aka son-in-laws), and a new granddaughter, Miss Piper Jane!
